What is Sezzle?

Sezzle is a payment solution that gives you the freedom to buy now and pay later - with no interest! When you complete a purchase with Sezzle, the merchant will process your order just like you paid in full, but you will have only paid a fraction of the cost.

When do I make my first payment?

We collect your first payment when you place the order with the merchant. You're always notified of the amount upfront, which could be as little as 25% of your total order cost.

The remaining payments will be spread out over your repayment schedule - you can always view the dates and amounts by logging into your Sezzle Shopper Dashboard.

Interest free payments, What's the catch?

No catch here! Sezzle is completely interest-free for shoppers because we’re committed to financially empowering the next generation.

Merchants pay us a fee, so you have the freedom to buy now and pay later. As long as you pay your installments on time, you’ll only pay for what you ordered—free from interest and processing fees!

Is there a minimum purchase amount?

Do any fees apply?

As long as you pay off your order as scheduled, no fees will be charged to your Sezzle account. However, if you need to make changes to your payment schedule, or if you miss a payment, fees may apply.


What do I do if my payments fail?

We get it. Life happens and sometimes, payments get forgotten or cards get compromised. That’s why we give you 48 hours from the moment a payment fails to resolve the payment, free of charge. If the failed payment is not resolved within 48 hours from the moment it fails, you will incur a $10.00 fee. To resolve a failed payment, login to your Sezzle Dashboard, select the order with a failed payment, and click Pay Now.

Can I reschedule a payment?

Absolutely! Every Sezzle order comes with one free payment reschedule. You can then reschedule your payments two more times, but those will come with a $5 fee.

To ensure the payment doesn't process as originally planned, we recommend rescheduling your payment at least 48 hours in advance. You can only reschedule your payment to a date within 13 days from the original payment due date. 

To reschedule a payment, login to your Sezzle Dashboard, select the order you would like to reschedule, and then click on "Manage Order." You can then click "Reschedule" next to the installment you'd like to change. Select a date that works better for you and confirm the change. 

Please note: once a payment begins processing, no changes can be made.

I need to change my payment method?

If something went wrong with your old payment method, like your credit card got stolen, you can also change your payment method. To ensure that the installment comes out of the new payment method, we recommend updating it at least 48 hours in advance.


Why wasn't my order approved for Sezzle?

We try to offer all applicants a simple payment plan through Sezzle, but unfortunately, we’re not always able to approve every order. Our system assesses every order individually, taking into account your available funds, outstanding orders, and the total cost of the order you’re trying to place. If you’re not approved for any reason, we’ll notify you right away.


Here are a few reasons you may have been denied:


  • Insufficient funds. Typically, we check to make sure you have at least 25% of the total order cost available at the time you place an order.

  • Too new to Sezzle. The longer you use Sezzle, the better your chances of getting approved. Usually, we’re less restrictive after the first six weeks.

  • Outstanding balance(s). The amount you owe on previous orders and the number of open orders on your account both impact your chances of being approved by Sezzle. Paying off your outstanding balances can improve your chances of getting approved.

  • Order value. Reducing the total cost of your order, or splitting it into two or three smaller transactions, can improve your chances of getting approved.

  • Payments linked to your account. Adding another debit or credit card to your Sezzle account helps us understand your repayment ability, which can help get you approved.


Keep in mind: Just because you’re not approved today, doesn’t mean you won’t be tomorrow. Every order is unique – so keep using Sezzle!

Can I payoff early?

When it comes to paying off an order, you can either let the installments be charged on their scheduled due dates, or you can pay them off early. 

Paying installments off early can often increase your likelihood of getting approved for new orders, however, it is not required. There is no punishment for paying your installments off as scheduled.

To pay off an installment early, simply login to your Sezzle dashboard, select "Manage Order" next to the order you'd like to make a payment on, and then click "Pay Now" next to the installment. Clicking that will make the payment immediately, and you can do this for any and all installments that you'd like to pay off.

I need to do a return or exchange

If you need to return or exchange your order, the first step is to contact the merchant. Please follow their exact return policies, which are often listed on their website. We strongly recommend keeping track of the tracking number, should you return anything by mail.

Once the merchant receives your return or exchange, they'll then process it exactly as they would for any other shopper.

We aren't able to initiate any refunds - we process the refunds that the merchant initiates.
